Introducing the CCAP
We are pleased to share the public-facing Central New Mexico Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP)—a collaborative, community-driven roadmap to reduce climate pollution, improve health and resilience, and build a thriving future for Central New Mexico.
The Strategic Agenda:
The Plan is organized by 5 Strategic Areas and 25 Community Priorities.
The first Strategic Area, Climate Leadership, reflects the actions needed to foster economic transformation and inspire collective action.
The remaining Strategic Areas dive deeper into our greenhouse gas emissions sectors to identify ways we can reduce climate pollution and support vulnerable communities.

Four Objectives:
The Community Task Force outlined four objectives of the Plan for the City:
Reduce Climate Pollution—through cleaner energy and transportation systems, sustainable water and waste management, and responsible land use.
Center the Needs of Vulnerable Communities—by recognizing those who have contributed least to the problem, yet bear the heaviest burden of a changing climate.
Foster Economic Transformation—by creating pathways for green innovation, workforce development, sustainable industry, and valuing the incorporation of cultural practices that have enabled life in the southwest for time immemorial.
Inspire Collective Action—uniting communities, policymakers, industry, and academia under a shared purpose.
